Citrus-flavored culinary herb. Flowers late in the season with soft, 2 1/2 " long flower head sprouting tubular lavender blossoms on one side only, the whole resembling a fussy, one-sided purple caterpillar. Sweet, floral, but not overpowering. Great for potpourris, tea, seafood, soups, noodle dishes, egg rolls, etc. Can replace mint in recipes. In hot climates provide afternoon shade. | |
