This silver leaved Mediterranean native makes an excellent focal point in the large ornamental border as well as in the kitchen garden. It forms spectacular lilac-blue flowers which can be eaten in the same way as globe artichokes. It is also grown for its stems and leaf-ribs which can be harvested and blanched in the autumn. | |
